About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Working for Web startup trustfunder

ABOUT ME

I am a simple man from a simple peasant family (actually, a pheasant family).

Actually, I'll be going off to the U.S. Army Reserves and will be volunteering to be deployed for any Africor projects, which are new intervention projects in Africa being initiated to help stem genocide and build agriculture.

I actually just left a career in advertising and will be going for an MBA to PhD next fall. I am not sure if I then what to go towards policy or actually work on the investing end. I'm hoping that not doing any art for a living will bring my passion for painting back.

Meanwhile, I'm trying to find couches in Washington DC so I can spend as much time as I can working on the Hillary Clinton campaign before I leave.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to be an existential person and an agent of change. I eschew dogma and believe the truth is subtle, like the best coffee shop in the world hidden down an alley or in a mew, it is never screaming at you. If I see a problem, I try to use my talents to be a part of the transformation.

For example, I not only joined the Army Reserves because it was the only way to get money for graduate school but because I felt it was a time for people who had knowledge of the Muslim world and experience with it to get involved. I also did it because I believe we have become an extremely self-centered society, (we even think our consumerist lifestyles are change) and there should be mandatory service -- a mix of non-military and military -- for all 18 year olds. Americans need to spend time with individuals who are not from their same socio-economic background and region. Part of these programs should also be global because Americans do not have a sense of the world
It's not a popular sentiment but I have never been one to use belief systems to be part of a social group.

Music, Movies, and Books

Don DeLillo is my favorite author. There are so many films from commercial to art house, I generally focus on the screenplay of a movie, the writing, rather than the entire gestalt. If it has a good script, I usually enjoy it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Everyday is amazing in it's own way.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm especially interested in transferring any skills to anyone coming to the U.S. who is involved in development elsewhere. My background is in marketing and advertising as well as economic development.
