About Me

Hallo, my name is Krissy and I'm an Architecture and Art History student from Cal Poly SLO in California spending a year of my studies in Munich, Germany. I love museums, mountains, snacks, sunshine, and the color green. For 3 years before I came here, I spent whatever time I wasn't studying traveling up and down California searching for mountain-top views, inspiring exhibits, natural hot springs, and the perfect burrito. Now I have brought the same joy for life and hunger for adventure to a new continent. When I travel I love to immerse myself in a place, whether that means going for a hike and feeling it beneath my feet or just sitting in the middle of the city with a sketchbook for hours.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people and getting the perspectives of locals when I travel. A place becomes even more special when you can learn some of its secrets and see how people really live there. Also, it never hurts to keep the budget low while still young and resilient and capable of sleeping on couches/ floors/ hammocks

Music, Movies, and Books

I love dancing and any music that makes me do so, especially psychedelic, rock, funk, and house music. I really enjoy American folk as a genre as well.
I don't watch so many movies but The Royal Tenenbaums is one I have seen repeatedly, sometimes just putting it on in the background while I build an architectural model because I love the soundtrack so much.
I've got a small tattoo from the book The Little Prince. Others that have made their mark on me (albeit less literally) include Dharma Bums by Jack Kerouac, The Sirens of Titan by Kurt Vonnegut, The Electric Kool Aid Acid Test by Tom Wolfe

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

On a beautiful 30°C day in late June, I had a snowball fight with my friends in deep snow in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California

Teach, Learn, Share

Some skills which I love to lead others through include photography, yoga, and cooking. I love to learn and ask questions so I am open to whatever knowledge you would like to share! I also like to practice my German so any help with that is appreciated too

I am very passionate about creating. I would love to cook for you and/or leave you with an art piece (or just a new Linkedin pic if you need me to snap one with my fancy camera)
