I am a quiet and studious person. I love to read, to discover and explore places all by myself. I love conversation. I do not party, I don't drink and don't smoke and go to bed rather early. Quite simple, really. :-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

(1) Hotels are expensive. Ability to travel should not depend on budget. (2) I am always interested in meeting mew people from all over the world and learning about their culture.

Music: Hal Ketchum, LeAnn Rimes, Reba McEntire, Garth Brooks, Edith Piaf, Zaz, Tchaikowsky, Bartók, Bach, Mozart.

Movies: My favorites movies are "Mogambo" and "Charade", but I am not into movies, really. I like TV series: Murder, She Wrote, The A-Team, Navy CIS, Monk, Longmire.

Books: Too many to name them! Tolstoy: "Anna Karenina" is one. Other authors I like are Pascal Mercier, Martin Mosebach, Fred Vargas, Philippe Delerm...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Flown from Ulaan-Baatar to Kathmandu via Beijing, Chengdu and Lhasa (24hrs flight trip). Crossing the Himalaya from Lhasa to Kathmandu was AMAZING.

Love to learn all languages, teach German, English, French. I am not a very proficient player of any musical instrument (a little piano, a little guitar) YET - and have the distant dream of learning how to play my favorite instrument, the Erhu.
