Overview
About Me
I'm very silly and sarcastic and I love adventure. I love things that push me and seem scary to everyone else. When I was younger my friends and I would jump off bridges into the town lakes for fun. I love high roller coasters. I'm almost always game to try something, and rarely (if ever) do I say no because something seems too scary. I moved to NYC over the summer and couldn't be happier.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
For a community of people who all want to learn, enjoy life and travel. I don't make a lot of money with the work I do, but it's fulfilling so I wouldn't choose otherwise; therefore, couch surfing is usually the most logical option for when I travel alone.
Interests
I love the outdoors. Before moving to NYC, I spent a lot of my time in Charlotte at the US Whitewater Center either rafting, kayaking, or rock climbing. I love craft beer and visiting breweries and vineyards and learning about how they're made. I enjoy live music and really any kind of festival (being from the South I've been to plenty strawberry, grape, okra, etc festivals).
I have such a huge thirst to travel more. The past three years I've poured my heart and soul into teaching and haven't been able to go too many places, but I'm desperate for that to change.

Music, Movies, and Books
I read constantly so my favorite books are usually changing. My current top 3 would be I Know This Much is True by Wally Lamb, This is How You Lose Her by Junot Diaz, and The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls.
I love any kind of movie that makes me think or has a plot twist. I love tasteful comedy, too.
Music is limitless. I love bluegrass music as much as classical opera or west coast rap. There's truly no genre I dislike; the mood I'm in dictates what I'm listening to.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Teaching 12th grade English for 3 years has been pretty amazing and incomparable.
Otherwise, exploring the ruins of Rome alone for hours was breathtaking and unlike anything else I've ever experienced. Sitting on the shore of Malta is a close second.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love teaching/learning/sharing any hobbies, especially cooking! Any kind of game (drinking or not) is always fun, too.
