About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see the world, and make friends from all over!

ABOUT ME

I'm friendly and laid-back. I love traveling and meeting people from all over the world. I love listening to music and trying new food. One of my favorite things to do while traveling is exploring a new city aimlessly while taking photographs.

PHILOSOPHY

Everyone has a story.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm new to Couchsurfing! I've stayed at hotels and hostels in my travels, but I would like a more local experience since I often travel solo. Although I haven't been able to host anyone quite yet, once I stay with you you are always welcome on my couch and in my home!

Interests

walking, yoga, photography, music, teaching, meeting new people, exploring markets, architecture, wine, film, SCUBA diving, sharing laughs and memories, spending time outdoors and in nature!

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy a wide range of films. I studied film and television in University, so I'm always open to watching them and enjoying discussing afterwards. Some of my favorite films are ones that make you think, or a comedy that makes you laugh until you cry.
I love to read and am always accepting recommendations for books to read. Some of best I've read in the past year are "First They Killed My Father" by Loung Ung, "Shantaram" by Gregory David Roberts, "Gone Girl" by Gillian Flynn, and "The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak.
I love live music! I love a lot of Classic American Rock, like The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, The Who, The Grateful Dead, etc. There is something so soulful about this period of music, and I love that music brings people together like it did for this generation.
My favorite band currently is Phish, a jam-rock band from the USA! They play every type of music, and improvise while they are on stage. I love the energy I feel at one of their concerts, and the fans are some of the best in the world! I love funk, rock, bluegrass, electronica, soul, classical, tribal, trance; all types of music! But my favorite thing is seeing it played live and dancing along.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I lived in Thailand this past year while teaching English. The entire experience was amazing and unforgettable. The kindness of the people in Thailand will stay with me forever. I've been shown amazing kindnesses by people in various countries I've visited and it's the best memory I have, and I hope to share it with others and pay it forward.
SCUBA diving has recently become one of my passions; it is one of the most amazing things I've ever experienced; strange, challenging, and exhilarating.

Teach, Learn, Share

I teach English and enjoy doing language exchanges over a drink or a cup of coffee. However, I believe that friendships can be formed even if we don't speak the same language. People have a lot to learn from one another and that's one of the most rewarding aspects about traveling.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to cook and enjoy a night in, talking, and sharing culture. I like to keep my space clean, so I would be happy to help clean your place, do the dishes, walk your dog, help with grocery shopping, anything to help out since you are helping me! But mostly, I can offer myself as a new friend and someone to talk with. I'm still young and have so much of the world to see and experience, and I believe that's found from getting to know people who come from different backgrounds.
Lastly, and most importantly, I can offer my couch to you in the future if you ever travel to the USA!
