Soon to be a graduate student at the University of Iceland, I'm trying to get some traveling accomplished while I'm over in Europe!

I like intellectual discussions, black coffee, craft beer and good company. I like to cook delicious vegetarian meals while listening to opera and drinking wine. I like exploring new places on foot. I like reading skaldic poetry aloud and getting lost in tales of Norse mythology.

I am a very curious individual and would like to interact with as many difficult people and cultures as I can.
Whatever your interests happen to be, I can guarantee that my curiosity will be piqued. I'm very open to suggestions regarding places to see, restaurants to try, etc. One caveat, however, is that I'm a somewhat independent individual, usually preferring to explore new places alone. I would not mind spending time in conversation and cooking together, but I won't require entertainment or company 24/7 during my stay, as I usually like to walk around a city or go on day tours by myself.

Oh also, I absolutely LOVE to sauna, so I usually make it my mission to track down a nearby sauna wherever I am staying.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I'm a newbie to the world of couch surfing since I've only previously stayed in hostels or with friends when traveling. However, I would really like to integrate myself into the community so that I can meet new people and have some company while traveling. I also try to seek out the most authentic experience possible when traveling so I'd like a way to interact with local people.

I enjoy cooking vegetarian food (and sometimes fish!) so I would be happy to make a meal or two together :)

I like talking to people, telling stories, hearing stories, just sharing what it means to be human and to live out the human condition.

Perspective. Every culture has its quirks, its upsides and its downsides. Just as I am fascinated by other cultures and perspectives, I assume most people might have some interests or questions about my culture as well.
