Cycling from the Netherlands to Norway

ABOUT ME

Hello! My name is Kristian. I recently finished my Master degree and I'm currently living in Rotterdam (The Netherlands).

This summer I plan to cycle from the Netherlands to Norway: a tour of 1500km to my town of birth Drammen. One year after my birth we moved to the Netherlands and since then I have been back in Norway few times (on vacation). Last year I cycled from the Netherlands to Serbia (my father country) and now I want to go north! :-D

I just finished my studies; a Master Sustainable Energy Technology at the Eindhoven University of Technology. Now that I'm finished I like to spent my summer cycling and having fun. :-) My goal is to start working at the end of the summer.

During my free time I like to be outside: cycling, rowing, hiking, sailing, etc. Other hobbies I have are Formula 1 and cars: I have been at multiple F1 races such as the ones at Nurburgring, Hockenheim, Sepang and the Red Bull Ring. Furthermore I really like to hang out with my friends: drinking a beer in the city, or student parties! ;)

Life is good, so just enjoy it! ;-)

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I used couchsurfing for my cycling trip to Serbia. Now that I've experienced the surfing is very enjoyable, I definitely would like to host someone in the nearby future and experience it again!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfing is great! :-D
I really enjoyed the adventure of meeting new people and their homes, visiting local places of interest, funny conversation and talks about cultural differences!
During my cycling trip from the Netherlands to Serbia I have had very good experiences; all people were friendly and took good care of me. Also the couches and beds were comfortable to sleep on.

I had two bad (pre-)experiences: both hosts informed me a relatively short time in advance that they couldn't host me. One of them texted me 15 minutes before I would meet her…
Other than that I think Couchsurfing is a great platform for meeting people and to have a good time! :-)

Reading is not my favourite thing to do, since I have to read enough for my study. I'm not home much and rarely watch any television (except F1!). Most of the time I'm busy working, doing chores, being outdoor, in the city centre or with friends and family.

When I do watch movies, I like films that are 'realistic'. (art house) All standard Hollywood action and/or drama movies are not really for me (that was fun in my youth;)

Cycling trip from the Netherlands to Serbia!
A 2000km long journey alongside Europes greatest rivers and channels (Rhine-Main-Danube) going through Germany, Austria, Hungary and Serbia. I've met some awesome people and it was a experience I wont forget!
