About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To travel the world and see all the beauty she holds

ABOUT ME

Why hello there! I'm very new to the world of couchsurfing, but I have a bit of travel under my belt. With my family I've seen quite a bit of the States and lived for three years in New Zealand with my mom. It was one of the most beautiful places I've ever seen and I recommend as a destination for everyone!

I'm currently ending my year living in England just outside of London as a volunteer carer for my gap year. It was my first time travelling alone and I have loved every second of it. I'm sad to be leaving such a beautiful country behind, but I'm excited fro my next adventure.

Obviously I love traveling and hope to do a lot more in the future. I plan to teach English later in life as a way to travel.

I'm double majoring in psychology and anthropology which basically means I just love to talk about people. We are certainly a fascinating species!

PHILOSOPHY

Life is yours to make. Don't let anyone hold you back. As long as you're not hurting anyone you should be allowed to do whatever makes you happy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've hosted a few people at my place and hope to do it again wherever I settle down next.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We've have had a few people at the house and they've all seemed to enjoy it! I've stayed with a few people now and hope to stay with a lot more during my next two months of backpacking Europe.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I'm a bit of a movie nerd, so don't be surprised if I go into a rant about certain ones. I like my independent films (I knew about Slumdog Millionaire before it got big), my weird but smart sci-fi, like "Splice" and "Moon" and "District 9," horrors that make you think like "28 Days Later," horrors that make you laugh like "Drag me to Hell," action that makes you laugh and think like anything Quinten Tarintino has made. Fantasy always will hold a special place in my heart so Lord of the Rings will always be among my favorites.

Also, Hayao Miyazaki is one of the best directors in the world. Period. He has more imagination in his little finger then most have in their entire lives.

My newest favorite movie is Scott Pilgram vs the World. It's a niche film, that's for sure, so most won't get it, but if you're a gamer you'll be laughing hard enough to cry.

As for books, I read just about everything, but you'll normally see me with a good fantasy novel. I just finished reading the Robin Hobb Farseer Trilogy and just started on the Tawny Man Trilogy. I'm trying to start reading the some of the classics.

Music I'm...bad at...Most of the stuff I have is what my friends give me. I usually like more indie stuff than anything like Bjork and Arcade Fire. And I probably would have made a better 20 something in the 70's when music was at its best. I do have a guilty Lady Gaga indulgence though...*shameface*

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A lone beach in the Coramandels of New Zealand. Just my mom, a friend, and me. White sand and calm blue green water for miles and not another soul in sight.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm very patient with people learning English. I love to talk and help people learn. It's what I hope to do one day so I better be good at it!

I also know a few things about photography so I'd be glad to help anyone who wants to learn the basics.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Mexico, Portugal, Spain

Countries I’ve Lived In
