About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Grow, learn, travel, meet people, listen to music and dance my ass off
ABOUT ME
My friends describe me as smart, energetic, funny, compassionate and a good listener. I like it that most people don't think I am as old as I am. One of the things I like about myself is that I don't take myself too seriously. I can be goofy as hell, but I think I do a good job of being serious when I need to be.
PHILOSOPHY
I could be dead tomorrow. I don't see that as being morbid, but more like a reminder not to waste time doing stupid boring things with stupid boring people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I love hosting!. Portland is a great city and I love showing it off. As far as surfing myself, I haven't done it yet, but I'm looking forward to it!
Interests
I love to travel and see new things. I love meeting people who are passionate about something (anything!) and can tell me all about whatever it is that they find interesting. I find joy every day in things big (Grand Canyon!) and small (toddlers at play). I love my work, I love my family and I love my life.

Music, Movies, and Books
Electronic music, mostly, now, but I have pretty eclectic taste. I love bebop, classical, salsa, old-school country, folk, etc. etc. I hate chick flicks and gory movies. I love to read history and 19th century British novels (LOVE Dickens).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
About the most amazing thing I've done lately is leave my hometown of 30 years, leaving family and friends, to move across the country and start a new life at the age of 42. Nature blows me away every time: Grand Canyon, Mt Hood (every time I see it), Arches National Park, the Alps. The most amazing thing I've ever seen is watching my daughter grow into a fabulous young woman both because of and despite my parenting.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to run, mostly between 4 and 13 miles. That runner's high is the payoff, baby! I love running half marathons and had a great time running the Hood to Coast relay last year. I'm also a really good knitter and have made some absolutely beautiful things, but I'm too busy to sit and knit much anymore. I love to teach other people to knit, though.
