ABOUT ME
Hi. My name is Kristin. I was born in the eastern part of Germany, grew up in a small village near Cottbus, then I moved to Munich, later to Halle. I lived in Prague for a year, came back and went to Utrecht for an internship, then to Düsseldorf and finally back to Halle to finish my studies. Since three year I'm living in the Netherlands – really enjoying this beautiful country.
I am working as a graphic designer in Rotterdam and am also in the middle of an exciting project that let me do more experimenting. Besides I enjoy meeting new people and experiencing other cultures, hanging out and laughing with friends while having a beer, watching art house movies, going to gigs/exhibitions, cycling … or just chilling with the neighbour's cat on my little balcony.
Whenever I have time I try to see my friends abroad. That means a lot of travelling but I love that.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I really enjoy travelling and meeting people who make me see things differently.
After a long time living in Utrecht where I also hosted a few people on my couch, I have moved to another flat in Rotterdam. Unfortunately the new flat makes hosting a bit difficult, but I am always up for a drink.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm quite new here. Lena, my good friend in Amsterdam told me about CS – it sounds amazing. Curious as I am, I want to try it out.

Music, Movies, and Books
Listing all my favourite music, literature and films is nearly impossible... I really like going to concerts checking out new bands, and going to the library meandering through hundreds of shelves there, always returning with a pile of books or cds.
Music (mainly between electronic and alternative music): Animal Collective, Holyfuck, Raveonettes, Kills, Killers, Death Cab for Cutie, Dear Reader, Nina Kinert, Blonde Redhead, Bat for Lashes, Asobi Seksu, Bunny Lake, Gustav, Soap and Skin.
Movies: Bin-Jip, Breath, Lost in Translation, Coffee and Cigarettes, Me and You and Everyone we know, but also classics like Wizard of Oz, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Clockwork Orange, Rebel Without a Cause, Blow up, Il professione: Reporter, ... and new german and austrian cinema.
Apart from art/architecture/design or theory related books, magazines, I also love reading Haruki Murakami, Junichiro Tanizaki, Christian Kracht, Christoph Hein, Daniel Kehlmann, Judith Hermann, Juli Zeh, Peter Handke – just to name a few.
