About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Right now, my goal is to see an experience all that I can while on my journey to get a college degree, and especially while abroad for these four months!
ABOUT ME
I am a proud Australian American (half Aussie, half American from German descent)! I have two cats that I love and adore named Jace and Daisy and come from a close-knit family of four. My Australian heritage has provided the opportunity for six trips to the country thus far and makes for an interesting balance between being grateful for the opportunity and missing one home whenever you're in the other. But I wouldn't trade my hertiage for anything! I'd say I got pretty lucky. :)
I've been involved with a lot in my life from theatrical productions to volunteering for trash cleanups and haunted house management, but my biggest passion is art. It is a life-long passion that has led to my seeking a degree in Studio Art with an emphasis in Photography. One year to go! I've recently taken an interest in costume makeup and theatrical prosthetics and worked with a professor this past autumn to have a cast of my face made, so I can build off of it with clay and make all kinds of latex prosthetics for myself. The possibilities are endless! It just goes to show that I have no idea what may be waiting for me around the corner! I have learned to keep an open mind because I never know what doors may open when or where their paths they may lead me. My life is an open book!
PHILOSOPHY
The personal motto I adopted in high school is "if I'm going to bother investing my time in something, then I am going to see it through to the best of my ability. Otherwise, it won't be worth it." I can't say I never slack, but when I make a commitment, I stick to it and strive to be the best I can be.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have now surfed five times in four difference countries. I had one questionable experience, but that was the exception to the rule. Overall, I met some incredible individuals who were incredibly friendly, generous, and helpful. Unfortunately, I am not able to host anyone at this point in my life because I live on campus, but this program has done wonders for me and I hope to pay it forward someday.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Pride and Prejudice (the 2010 version), V for Vendetta, The Little Mermaid, Tarzan, Stardust, P.S. I Love You, Jurassic Park...the list goes on! I'm a big movie buff.
Music: I enjoy listening to most genres of music, but am picky when it comes to country, rap, and R&B. Some of my favorite groups/artists are Sonata Arctia, Steam Powered Giraffe, Josh Groban, and Pink.
Books: The Fault in Our Stars, the Harry Potter series, The Mortal Instruments series, Jurassic Park, Pride and Prejudice, and the tales of Edgar Allan Poe are near the top of my list, but I love reading and it's my dream to one day have a library in my home.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've have been blessed with many wonderful opportunities that have allowed me to get a lot out of the 21 years I've spent on this planet. From the sound of the ocean crashing on Washington State's sandy bank to the dusty air of the Australian Outback to the everyday sight of a bald eagle perched on a tree outside my house, my life has been constantly filled with beauty and wonder. It's humbling and enriching to have such experiences and I can't wait to see what the future holds!
