Hey, I'm Kristin!

I'm a small town girl born and raised in southern Alberta, Canada. I grew up playing on the farm with my sister and cousins, camping with my family, hunting and fishing in the rocky mountains with my dad, just spending as much time outside as possible.

My first real trip was to Hawaii with my family when I was about eleven and then to California a year later. Since then I have been bitten with the travel bug and the longing to see and experience the world will never go away. I since have travelled all over Europe and can't wait to continue in my travels all around the world. I truly believe one who has not traveled has not lived and there is no greater growing and learning experience than those that you receive from travel.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

*My boyfriend Ryan and I have recently decided to take a road trip from out home in southern Alberta, Canada down to San Francisco, CA and then Los Angeles, CA for 2 weeks or so in the middle of July to celebrate our birthdays and to get away for a bit and share more experiences. I have always wanted to see San Francisco and LA and it is not too far of a road trip for this occasion. We both love to travel (we travelled around Europe together last May and June) and can't wait to just experience different parts of the world together. *

I am looking to experience new cultures, meet new people, listen/share stories, and fall more and more in love with every aspect of the world throughout my continued travels. What better way to do this then to stay with locals and experience new cities through their eyes.

Although receiving suggestions about my hosts city from them, whether it be what to see, where to eat or how to get around is always appreciated, I do not require this of a host. I am aware you have your own busy life and I would just be forever grateful to you for sharing your home with me. I am an independent traveller and am able to plan and figure out things on my own as I have in the past.

Interests

I love traveling (of course), animals, sunrises and sunsets, tea, learning new things, drinking socially, wine, music festivals, dancing, quaking, kayaking, tubing, boating, biking, hiking, fishing, riding horses, camping, yoga, music, walking around an unknown city and getting lost, unexpected adventures, trying new things, learning about different cultures and meeting new people!

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to a variety of music, it changes frequently depending on my mood and I go through phases of what I'm into..right now it seems to be indie/indie pop/electronic/pop. I love almost every genre of movies although I tend to stray from the scary ones.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have scuba dived off the Adriatic coast (I am pretty fearful of deep waters due to past events), but other than that the future has yet to be determined..
