I walked 6 hours, over streams and moss, across the snowline, all to see a volcano. At the end of the hike, 50 superjeeps were roaring across the fresh crust. Night fell on us as we sat and watched fire spill in slow motion from the earth. The moon joined us, thousands of stars, and then the northern lights. We walked down again, so tired at the end that we started hallucinating.
