About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To see as much of the world as I can in my lifetime.
ABOUT ME
I got the travel bug shortly after starting my first 'real' job at a bank post university in 2005. After 9 months of masquerading as an adult in a business suit and high heels, I realized that I was not ready to submit to the 9-5 office lifestyle. I quit my job and packed a tiny 30 litre backpack to take me to Central America for what was only going to be three months. Three months turned into three years working in hostels and as a tourguide in the region. I met amazing people, learned to speak Spanish, and saved some money along the way that allowed me to continue my selfish traveler ways and see some other amazing parts of the world like South America and Africa. I'm making my way down to Australia to work for a bit with a short pit stop in the Balkans first. My bag is now 3 times the size it was when I left for Central America.
PHILOSOPHY
Listen to what your gut tells you.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I started couchsurfing on a trip to Spain in 2010. Most of the traveling I've done has been in the developing world where couchsurfing isn't well known or as practical. I find hostels in Europe very sterile and less social than in developing countries which is why I prefer to use couchsurfing while I'm here. One day, when I'm tired of moving constantly, I look forward to making other travelers feel well looked after in my home.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have couchsurfed a few times in Spain in 2010 but haven't taken advantage of it much since as I mentioned, I mostly travel in developing countries. All of my experiences have been very positive.
Interests
I've never been an expert in anything which is why I guess my interest would have to be in people. I love hearing other people's stories, big or small, which is probably why I'm addicted to travelling.

Music, Movies, and Books
Favorite movies-anything by Pedro Almodovar or Woody Allen.
My favorite book-One hundred years of Solitude, Marquez. Most interesting book I've read recently was The Shadow of the Sun by Kapuscinski about a Polish reporter's experience working in Africa.
Favorite music (at the moment)-Bon Iver, Beirut, Lykke Li, Sia, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
There are too many to list but the most satisfying feeling is always when I come home from an amazing trip and take a ferry through the gulf islands or hike up "the chief" in British Columbia, look around and realize that I get to come home to one the best, most awe inspiring landscapes in the world.
