À propos de moi

CURRENT MISSION

Don't worry too much about anything and make a lot of jam.

ABOUT ME

I love to smile, laugh and talk. Spending time with other people is very important to me, but I also appreciate time alone. I'm serious when the occasion calls for it, and also sometimes when it doesn't, but generally I'm lighthearted, easy-going, and all said, pretty cheerful. I live for good food, good wine and good company. I generally don't eat shellfish, but I generally do eat anything that is served to me, and I generally will cook for you if you're down with that.
Currently, I'm studying philosophy and German, with no particular plans for "what to do" with my degree. Maybe I will make jam for a living, and read books between batches. Maybe I will go to grad school.

Centres d'intérêt

I will never get tired of cooking, baking, or jam-making.

All those continental philosophers are pretty mind-bending.

I'm learning to love translation, but my love for translation theory is already well cultivated.

Biking in the summer is my only mode of transportation. Well, sometimes I walk. Wintertime is really my walking season. Skiing scares the hell out of me, just so you know. I am, however, interested in learning cross-country.

You know, I am not interested in filling out this box any further.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

One time, I didn't go on Facebook for like a month.

Enseignez, apprenez, partagez

Allow yourself to think metaphorically and non-verbally. Not all experiences can be expressed conventionally, in a concrete and logical way. In fact, some experiences may seem to be inexpressible. But that is the fault of the bounds and limits of language, not of the experience itself nor of the experiencer. Such experiences are still legitimate—they happen, they're felt, and they can change fundamentally change people.
