ABOUT ME
My wife and I recently moved from Iceland to Malaysia, and settled down in Penang for the next 2-3 years. After a few years of traveling together, we've decided to stick around for a while and put down tents and are both working, my wife is a doctor and I'm a travel agent working from home.
We try to travel when we can, but getting more complicated with our first child on the way, but we do love to meet fellow travelers.
Jimi Hendrix - Smashing Pumpkins - Sigur Ros - Massive Attack - Morcheeba - Leftfield - Leonard Cohen - Mugison - Beatles - Prodigy (before) and of course, Bjork and Olafur Arnalds.
Play guitar a bit and travel with my ukulele, trying to get better.
Used to play lots of football and managed a conference division football team in Reykjavik. I've been injured for a long time, though, and not played much in later years, but the best feeling to go on the pitch with the mates for fun.
Pulp Fiction - Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind - Kill Bill - Apocalypse Now - The Neverending Story - Dark Crystal - Jack & the beanstalk (the Japanese/English version).
Eeehmmm... Lived 30 years in Reykjavik and every new year thinking: "THAT DOES IT, I'm gonna try living somewhere else." But I never do so I guess I love Iceland too much, the nature and having my family and friends close - but still I like to keep to myself a lot too. (Actually now since this was written I've had lived and worked in Malaysia and China, so finally untying the strings with Iceland for a while).
I'm not the biggest fan of cheese you'll find on Earth. On toast and on pizza is okay though. But Casu Marzu.... - Seriously !
I am a little bit green and try to be greener in the sense that I try to recycle as much as I can and lower my consumption. Be needing less, I have more.
I am starting to sail away from political thoughts more and more (even though i am somewhat educated in political science). Instead I like just romanticizing about something more meaningful and enjoyable.
I'm sometimes a little bit forgetful, thus being fashionably late sometimes or slightly clumsy. Oh and I have a slightly chubby midsection but I don't look at is as a negative thing.
I can be shy or I can be full of confident. It all depends on the situation or atmosphere in hand (...and level of alcohol sometimes).
I love to write and once I've started I can keep on going. I could never talk as much verbally as I do with writing. Short stories, poems. I've had a dream since I was a kid that one day I will write a book... and that Tottenham Hotspur will win the English Premiership.
Barcelona - Tottenham Hotspur - Chicago Bulls - Kærastan hans Ara (my team) - Leiknir - FRAM
Truthfully I feel better to let other people describe how I am. That's usually how I find a lot out about myself.
PHILOSOPHY
Less is more.
Keep an open mind towards all people and embrace the little things.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've been couch surfing for a few years now, not all the time, but with regular intervals, and met and made some great friends for life. I've actually taken a break for a few years, as I've stopped traveling as much, but still not had a steady place of my own to be able to host, until now recently. So far I've only been surfing or meeting up with people, but as my wife and I have settled down in Penang, we're happy to start hosting and helping fellow travelers. It's such a pleasure. We'd be glad to have you stay with us although you might be mostly on your own during the day. I've got time over the weekends but my wife's schedule is very random, depending on the hospital's schedule that changes every week.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've couch-surfed dozens of times now, and feel so lucky to have met these people. There are all kinds of people, homes and couches, and I've nothing but share appreciation and joy of having my CS experiences. It feels like fate and good karma, to be lucky enough meeting such unique and open minded people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Sunset at the China Wall.
Skinny dipping in cold lakes in Mongolia and Estonia.
Standing on a newly erupted volcanic lava while watching the red hot river flowing through the cracks beneath me and grilling a tuna sandwich so that my walking stick caught fire.
Winter train trip from Ulaan Baatar to Moscow, wild parties with freshly slain Kazakh horse meat and vodka.
Sleeping on mountain top in Tai Shan.
Finding lots and lots of money on a hill top in Yang Shuo, only to discover it had been placed there by people who used the bills to wipe their asses (had a mental breakdown after that).
Honestly the most amazing things that's happened during my travels is to have the good fortune to meet fantastic people on the way and share our travels, thoughts, stories and dreams together, and make good friends for life.
Getting married and becoming a father soon.
Teach, Learn, Share
Ice hockey was invented in Scotland.
Polar Bears are left handed.
Orang Utans and Humans have 98% same DNA (hmmm.. could they have babies?)
