À propos de moi

Hi! My name is Kris. I come from Poland. I spent the last few years in Warsaw, where I was working as a designer in geotechnics (a branch of civil engineering). Now I am taking a break. This year I plan to ride across North and South America on a bicycle. I don’t have a detailed plan, but I'm heading south visiting National Parks and meeting good people on my way.

My goal is to see another part of the world, gain new experiences, meet new people, learn new things and broaden my horizons so that my life after the trip will be more interesting and have a positive impact on the people and world around me.

I enjoy outdoor activities such as mountain hiking, cycling, wild camping. I feel good in nature. I also like music, books and some sports. I play ukulele a little bit. I also like hitchhiking and I have done some hitchhiking trips in the past.

I like rock concerts (actually, not only rock), cinema, theatre, museums, galleries and would be happy to visit some with you :)

I speak Polish and English. I also studied Russian for six months, and I’m currently learning Spanish, but i still need to practice a lot :)

Added 26th of July 2025:

I have been travelling since the end of May, mostly by hitchhiking.
Here’s a short list of some of the things I’ve experienced during this trip:
-Spent a few days in San Francisco, biked across the Golden Gate Bridge, and met amazing Couchsurfing hosts, Calvin and Steve.
-Visited Yosemite National Park, hiked to the top of Half Dome and other places, and tried bouldering there.
-Spent a few days in Vancouver, attended a cool alternative culture festival called Music Waste, and visited the amazing Museum of Anthropology.
-Had a beautiful time by gorgeous Anderson Lake in a wonderful community.
-Hiked to the top of Stawamus Chief and did some other shorter hikes around Squamish.
-Spent two weeks on Vancouver Island
-Spent Canada Day in beautiful Victoria, attended Victoria Pride, and met some great hosts, Kervin and Raja.
-I visited Salt Spring Island, where I spent a few days with the amazing David, who lives in an old cabin without electricity or running water and spends his days enjoying the surrounding nature..
-Hiked several parts of the Juan de Fuca Marine Trail — Sombrio Beach is amazing!
-Hiked the entire West Coast Trail, which took me 7 days.
-Hiked to the beautiful 5040 Peak.
-Hiked a section of the Howe Sound Crest Trail — Brunswick Mountain is incredible!
-Attended the Squamish Arts Festival.

Next plans:
-Garibaldi Provincial Park and Black Tusk
-Revelstoke National Park
-Glacier National Park
-Calgary (and finally buying a bicycle — I can’t wait!)
