About Me

Love travelling, and I love to do so economically, so I can go on more trips.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've never tried couchsurfing. I've slept in hotels, hostels, AirBNB, tents, train stations and airports. I might as well add couch surfing to my arsenal of accommodation options.

I love using hostels simply due to the atmosphere and people. I find that there's a distinct kind of people that use hostels, and I wonder if I can find conversational, travel-loving, picture-snapping individuals through this website also! :)

Interests

I am getting my scuba diving certification July 2017!! I'm also interested in quickly leveling up, as a hobby-turned-job is right up my alley.

Overall, I would say that I have many interests, and I'm always interested in trying healthy/positive things at least once, such as slack-lining. It was fun the few times I tried it, but I wouldn't say that I'm a slack-liner. I do love when other people share their interests with me!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Levek, Grizzly Bear, MIA, Sia, Gorillaz, Beck, Kings of Leon, Deep Forest. I like a lot of soundtrack music, or just wordless music, so I can have something nice to think to.

Movies: Basically anything with Matt Damon, Michael B. Jordan, or Sandra Bullock, Matrix, cult classics.

Books: Anything by George Orwell, Philip K. Dick, Issac Asimov. Science-Fiction is my favorite! I read a lot of technical material or tutorial-type books (big DIYer).

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I learned to be honest with myself. All too often, I would trick myself into doing something I didn't really care for, or acquire things I didn't really want, so that other people could be pleased, or so that I could think that other people were pleased with me.

In practicing honesty with myself (not haughtiness, but genuine honesty), the good things around me really came into the light.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm learning Spanish, for realz this time!!

I've downloaded Duolingo, take pictures of all the bi-lingual signs (bathroom signs, airport signs, bus stop signs, etc), and just try to read, find syntax/grammatical patterns, and occasionally eavesdrop on Spanish speakers (for pronunciation purposes ;-) ). It's going to pay off when I get to Mexico and South America!!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Sometimes, I have handmade arrowhead necklaces (made by yours truly). Other times I have just myself, although I am not shy around hand tools. If you need help with a project, I might be able to assist while I'm there.
