ABOUT ME

Unable to host right now due to living arrangements, but happy to meet for coffee/drinks or a meal and tell you a bit about Wellington.

Krystal and I (Louise) are married and come from New Zealand. I grew up in Wellington and also lived in England for two years. Krystal grew up in Palmerston North and moved to Wellington after finishing high school. She has been a courier in the city and knows the region very well. We just spent two years living in Canada and fell in love with it. Now we're back in New Zealand working to pay off the cottage we just bought in Raetihi.

To live the sweet life. To understand that we will never completely understand the world - but to always revel in the beauty and magick that comes from trying to. To keep an open mind so that we may learn something from every person we meet. To always be thoughtful, curious, adventurous and sensual. To keep a geeky sense of humour. Listen. Share. Teach.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We participate by offering our knowledge, hospitality and friendship. Laid back fun and good times! Right now we're spending 5 months driving around Canada, trying to experience as much as we can, as deeply as we can. We're quickly finding that 5 months is nowhere near enough to see this beautiful country the way we'd like to!

Interessen

We enjoy hiking, snowboarding/skiing, the beach, fishing, reading, bbqs, a beer in the sun on a hot day, great coffee at a Wellington cafe and hanging out with good friends. We take part in Medieval & viking re-enactment, Krystal does sewing and weaving as part of it and we love getting to as many living history camps and events as we can. Cooking over a fire, doing archery, and sifting about in costume are some of our favourite camp things to do :)

We're passionate about travel, history, the outdoors and have our next 3 or 4 adventures half-planned already!

Music- anything and everything. Books - good fantasy! (Robin Hobb, Sara Douglass, Orson Scott Card, Patrick Rothfuss, Anne Bishop) travel biographies, autobiographies, classics.. heaps of different things really. Movies - action & adventure, epics, musicals..

Krystal can weave, sew, help you make viking clothing and chop wood like a pro! We love to play in the kitchen and have some great recipes to share.
