About Me
[name pronounced: Sa-Ma-Sa-Tee]
You are welcome to call me Sama or Sati as a nickname :)
I am a creative, easygoing, and lighthearted individual who enjoys both quiet reflection and deep conversations. While I'd describe myself as introverted, I am quite sociable and love getting to know who others are under the surface.
I currently work as a registered counsellor and professional astrologer. On the side, I like to create all sorts of things: music, poetry, jewelry, pottery and am doing my best to write a fantasy series (still on the first draft of the first book!)
I'm not a wild partier and am relatively sober (mainly due to how my body responds to it), but am non-judgmental around how other people live their lives.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am on CS because I think it is an excellent opportunity to meet and connect with new people. This type of experience feels very supportive and exciting while traveling.
I really love to meet real, fun and caring people that are interested in authentic expression, kindness and cool conversations. I’ve travelled a lot in my life and most of my favourite experiences were meeting new people in new places.
Interests
I am what you would call a jack of all trades and an ace to none. I am interested in many mediums of art, including:
- singing/songwriting (piano, guitar, ukulele)
- making jewelry
- pottery + ceramics
- candle making
- poetry
- painting
I've also spent a large portion of my life exploring spirituality (partly to my own detriment). Now I've come to appreciate a simple way of living and don't abide by intense dogmas. I am still fairly interested in different kinds of meditation, yoga, and holistic healing modalities like ayurveda and chinese medicine.
