Overview
About Me
Hі, I'm Ksenia, a 26 year old adventurer with a passion for travel, leisurely strolls, and the world of theater.
I'm captivated by the charm of Lviv, and over a cup of delicious coffee, I'd love to share more about this beautiful city.
While my English is a work in progress, I'm eager to engage in conversation and learn along the way.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've created a Couchsurfing profile with a few key goals in mind. Firstly, it's an opportunity for language practice, as I believe that by connecting with people from around the world, I can enhance my language skills and broaden my horizons.
Secondly, I'm eager to explore and understand new cultures. Couchsurfing offers a unique platform for cultural exchange, and I'm excited to immerse myself in diverse traditions and worldviews.
Additionally, I see this as a chance to share my knowledge about the traditions and culture of my own country. I'm passionate about preserving and celebrating the heritage of my homeland, and I'm eager to introduce others to it.
Lastly, I'm more than willing to provide language practice and support to those who are learning my native language. I believe in the power of mutual learning and helping others in their language journey. So, whether you're looking for cultural insights, language practice, I'm here to welcome you with open arms.
Interests
I'm currently into stretching and have recently started exploring Pilates, although I've been actively involved in sports for most of my life. I'm in the process of rekindling my activity levels and overall life after a long break.
I have a deep passion for photography as a means to capture the incredible and diverse world around us. I enjoy long solitary walks, which give me a chance to connect with nature and my thoughts.
I used to be an avid bookworm, but lately, my mind seems to resist focusing on reading. I hope this phase passes soon, and I can dive back into books with a newfound enthusiasm.
I thrive on new experiences and cherish traveling, as it offers a splendid opportunity to discover new cultures, traditions, and the breathtaking beauty of Mother Nature.
I dabble a bit in drawing and singing, but all these hobbies are at an amateur level, and I'm not necessarily looking to develop them further. I simply enjoy the creative process.
I have a deep love for theater – it's a sensory, intense experience on the verge of an emotional rollercoaster and an incredible source of satisfaction.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have diverse tastes when it comes to music. I enjoy organ music, classical compositions, rock, and even genres like black metal, folk, or indie. I can listen to a single genre or artist for months, but that doesn't diminish my love for other styles. Around Christmastime, I adore singing Ukrainian carols and folk songs; their melodies warm my soul and heart.
When it comes to movies, it's not easy to captivate me, but when a film resonates with me, it becomes a forever love. Some of my all-time favorites include "The Irishman," "To Kill a Mockingbird," "Oppenheimer," and "The Platform." I also watch animated shows like "The Simpsons" and have gone through series like "BoJack Horseman" and anime such as "Attack on Titan," "Hunter x Hunter," and "Saw."
As for books, I love those where I can immerse myself in the hero's experience, see life from a different perspective, and feel like I'm living the story. My all-time favorite book is "Flowers for Algernon." I also have a deep appreciation for the incredible works of Stephen King, both as a person (grateful for his support for Ukraine) and as an author.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most incredible experiences in my life was when I decided to take a leisurely walk to the airport in Sicily, as I have a fondness for long walks. However, fate had other plans for me as the maps led me astray, and I found myself on the outskirts, near the takeoff zone for airplanes, surrounded by private residences.
In this moment of uncertainty, I encountered some locals. They didn't speak English, and my Italian was limited to a few basic phrases I had learned during my travels. Nevertheless, these people went out of their way to help me find my way to the airport. While I couldn't understand everything they said, their kindness and willingness to assist were crystal clear.
With the assistance of their sister living in the United States, who helped us communicate over the phone, we managed to bridge the language barrier. She learned that I was from Ukraine, and she expressed her profound admiration for our people's resilience and belief in our ability to overcome challenges.
This brief 20-minute journey with them left me with indelible emotions, a testament to the incredible impact of selfless help. It's a memory that continues to resonate with me, reminding me of the warmth and generosity that can be found in unexpected places.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm eager to share my knowledge about Ukraine, our traditions, cuisine, and language with fellow travelers. I'm here to assist, whether it's through language exchange, cultural insights, or tips for exploring my city. I'm also here to learn from you and explore new perspectives, always open to fresh experiences and unconventional solutions.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I want to clarify that I'm not seeking accommodation through Couchsurfing since there are other resources like Booking and Airbnb for that purpose. Instead, I'm here to connect with interesting individuals who are open to sharing experiences and embracing new adventures.
While I'd love to provide a place to stay, unfortunately, I don't have the available space to host anyone at the moment. Nevertheless, I'm more than willing to meet up, show you around my city, and engage in meaningful conversations.
