Still trying to combine my medical career with my intense passion for travelling. I especially love backpacking countries off the beaten track, where I can have more authentic experiences with locals instead. It's never boring travelling with me, I'm someone living on the edge of my comfortzone, open to all kinds of new experiences!

"If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?" And whenever the answer has been "no" for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

After travelling all those years, the moments I cherish the most when I meet locals, the sparks and energy that flows when we learn about eachother's culture, that for me is the very essence why I travel.

CS is ultimate way to know the in's and out's of the city and the culture when you are travelling in a new place.

Interests

A real surprise, but I love medicine! So fascinating how the human body works. But besides that, I love many things: I'm quite active, having ran the marathon last year, love playing tennis and football, also started bouldering recently. I also love reading books when I have the time for it. Ofcourse I enjoy a great party, music festivals in the summer are the best.

I listen to all kinds of music, it just depends on what I'm doing at the moment. When I was younger I listened to indie rock a lot, sometimes rap and hiphop, but now also a lot of electronic music and techno especially at festivals

My medical knowledge comes in quite handy in all kinds of situation. It's quite amazing how much you can discover of your own body with a pair of eyes, ears and hands, no need to have fancy stethoscopes or such!

I even had random locals in the train ask me for advice in Spanish in Peru, which was unexpected, also given my level of Spanish.
