About Me

It seems it's a strange thing to love your job.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I used to try and organise strange little things, like dinner parties and running activties.

Now I wanna strip things back. Would much rather hang out with 3 people than 30, so i guess the gathering days are over.

Interests

Freshwater swimming
saunas
chili
bikeriding in heavy traffic
waiting
navel gazing
collecting icecubes from hell.

but to put it simply, sweat. i'm interested in sweat and anything involving it.

Music, Movies, and Books

film (directors): amongst others: Rolf de Heer, David Lynch; Werner Herzog, Wes Anderson, Takeshi Kitano; Gaspar Noe;

Music: oh jeez......anything from Detroit, most thins with an African influence (esp. Nigerian...good ol' Fela), Brian Eno...oh man this list is too long to get started. Lots of soundtracks. RIP Johannsson

Books: Murakami. And others, but mainly Murakami. David Wong is one of the very few authors that can make me laugh. Recently I finished reading the Art of Gathering and am trying to put it into practice throughout my life.

Seem to be watching a whole lot of Joe Rogan Experience podcasts these days- great guests and long chats.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

a sumo wrestler let me beat him in a match.
i made an audio book for a lover once.
a week long hike under sweden's midnight sun from 10pm-4am everyday also ranks pretty highly.
i've been privy to the inner secrets of many souls, and i thank them for that.

I used to say that most of this pales in comparison to being in Africa for six months. but just recently, I dunno... the thing that seems most amazing now, and i say this now with pride but amazement at the fact itself... I'm really glad that I seem capable of spending vast amounts of time with my parents and finding out so many new things. Maybe it's just an age thing.

Teach, Learn, Share

That job I mentioned earlier? It's as a teacher, mainly of English. I love it, mainly because my students always teach me. As in life, I love being wrong.
