About Me

All I want is a cuddle from Friedrich Nietzsche. Is that too much to ask?

I'm okay, I guess.

if i ain't dancing on my death bed someone f##kin kill me already.

got no time for addictions except for my addiction to the painkiller that is laughter.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

I used to try and organise strange little things, like dinner parties and running activties.

Now I wanna strip things back. Would much rather hang out with 3 people than 30, so i guess the gathering days are over.

It's all about bath robes and Brian Eno from here on in. And watching the 600 fairy lights in our backyard brighten and fade like inspiration at 3 am.

if i had a dollar for every couch i had slept on....I'd buy a couch for you...

am looking forward to paying back the goodwill and kudos i have received, especially in the last year. my soon-to-be flatmates won't know what'll hit em. lord knows who's rocking up at my parents' address while i'm away....

but a firm believer in the power of Dishwashing. It's the leash to every surfable couch, and is probably my third favouirte job that i have ever had. Pity it pays peanuts.

Obviosuly: cooking big f+ck off feasts, swimming, sharing music and stories (espcially the weird and embarassing ones), hearin 'bout travel adventures, long nights of rockin out, photography.

But, more abstractly and more importantly:

the meeting point of nihilism and philanthropy

being in countries where i can't speak the language: for then you'll be forced to speak the language of love ( it's not french ;) )

when someone's early morning laughter at the day's previous events is a a regualr alarm to wake up to

bikeriding in heavy traffic

a heart rate of 180bpm

navel gazing

collecting icecubes from hell.

but to put it simply, sweat. i'm interested in sweat and anything involving it.

Music, Movies & Books

film (directors): amongst others: Rolf de Heer Daid Lynch; Werner Herzog, Bruce Beresford, Wes Anderson; Takeshi Kitano; Michael Haneke; Gaspar Noe;

Music: oh jeez......anything from Detroit, most thins with an African influenec (esp. Nigerian...good ol' Fela), Brian Eno...oh man this list is too long to get started

Books: Murakami. And others, but mainly Murakami.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

i accidentally once urinated on my own head.

i climbed trees with children and got outdanced by grandmas in guinea.

i've been privy to the inner secrets of many souls, and i thank them for that.

but i would be lying if i didn't say that most of this pales in comparison to being in Africa for six months. I won't get started on that one...

Teach, Learn, Share

self-deprecation and cooking- i might be able to lend a hand at those.

Countries I've Visited

Burkina Faso, Canada, Croatia, Côte d'Ivoire, Denmark, Germany, Ghana, Guinea, Hungary, Ireland, Japan, Mali, Netherlands, Serbia, Sweden, Switzerland, Togo, United Kingdom, United States
