About Me

I love to accept Couchsurfing guests but often my place is booked by Air BnB guests. Try to give me a couple of weeks notice and I'll try my best.

I've been a Couchsurfing member for about 6 years but never really used it much until now.

My name is Kumar Bhai and I originate from Gorkha in Nepal. I've been in Portugal now for about 2 years and Lisbon is a fantastic city.

MY EXACT LOCATION is in Cacilhas. Cacilhas is directly across the river from Cais do Sodre metro station (green line) in Lisbon. Ferries cost €1.25 one way and there are up to 8 ferries per hour but fewer late at night. First ferry goes at 5:20 am and last ferry goes long after midnight (1:40 am). It takes 8 minutes to cross the river.

DIRECTIONS TO MY PLACE From Cacilhas ferry station, find the lane with dozens of outdoor cafes and restaurants and walk straight up, bearing right at the two forks. The road is Rua Elias Garcia 65, ESQ 1 and press the bell marked 'Dai', walk up to first floor and look for Kumar Bhai written on my apartment door.

I have travelled a lot around China and southeast Asia and I have been to the UK too. I love Wales. It is very beautiful and the people are so friendly. I even went to the village of:- Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch but I still can't pronounce it. I haven't decided where my next trip will be but Switzerland, Paraguay, Madeira, Azores, Brazil are strong possibilities.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm a very sociable person. I thoroughly enjoy an evening at home with friends, a meal and some beer or wine and chatting with Couchsurfers.

Interests

I don't read books generally but I do like to read people's autobiographies. I love various kinds of music but I don't like heavy metal nor some rock music and I have been collecting music from around the world for many years. I am passionate for travelling and I am ready to go anywhere in the world except Sudan, Syria, Iraq and Somalia maybe. I love to go to the gym. I love meeting new friends, socialising, the internet, watching certain TV programmes, good food and wine/beer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen Angkor Wat which is located in Siem Reap (second biggest city of Cambodia). I've walked along the Great Wall of China. I've island hopped in small pump boats around the Philippines. I've swum in Halong Bay in Vietnam. I've travelled on the Reunification Express from Hanoi to Saigon and I've been up to Sapa too. I think the greatest thing I've ever done is to build our three storeyed family house in Kathmandu without having had any previous experience.
