About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see and do as many things as possible in this short life.

ABOUT ME

Kurt is a 31 year old Australian who grew up in a small town and had never been on a plane until he flew to London for his first overseas experience.

Keryn is a 29 year old Kiwi who caught the travel bug after her first trip to Japan while in high school.

We met in London while both on a 2 year working holiday visa, and when our time was up we decided to travel through Asia for 3 months on the way back to Australia. It was on this trip a plan was hatched to travel through South America, and it's grown out of control from there! We plan to travel to as many places as possible, as slowly as possible, for as long as possible.

PHILOSOPHY

To learn and pass on knowledge, and experience as much as possible in whatever time we have.

Interests

Kurt loves to cook and we both love trying new and local foods. Keryn loves to bake anything and everything sweet. We both look forward to getting involved in WWOOFing and volunteering on our travels to learn new skills to put into practice when we eventually return home, as we'd like to start an organic lifestyle. We love to meet new people and listen to their stories.

Music, Movies, and Books

We both love English movies and don't think the English humour or grittiness can be beaten. Favourites of ours are anything by Monty Python and English gangster movies (Snatch, Bronson, Lock Stock & 2 Smoking Barrells, Adulthood, Essex Boys). We also like foreign language movies like City of God and BOPE, and documentaries.

Our music tastes are varied and eclectic - Aussie hip hop, drum n bass, dub, electro, grunge, and too many other genres to list them all. Favourite bands are Rage Against the Machine, Fat Freddy's Drop, Trinity Roots, Shapeshifter, Queens of the Stone Age, Pendulum, Hilltop Hoods, TZU, The Herd, Dizzee Rascal, The Presets, Pearl Jam...and the list goes on. There's only two types of music we don't like - country and western.

Keryn LOVES to read, and can often be found with her head in a book. Mainly fiction of any genre but anything goes. Kurt likes to read, not as often or as fast as Keryn, and mainly enjoys non-fiction.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

This is a tough question so we'll answer it another way - we've been very lucky to do and see many amazing things through our love of travel. But you know how you wonder if what you see on TV and in books your whole life will live up to the expectations, well we thought that about the Taj Mahal, but when we walked through the archway and saw it for the first time we were awestruck. Also, glaciers are pretty kick ass too.

Teach, Learn, Share

Keryn has knowledge of Japanese and a small amount of Mandarin and Spanish. Kurt is good with his hands as he has worked as a plumber and apprentice chef. We can share our Antipodean humour and our love of rugby and homegrown music.
We're open to learning anything from languages, to practical skills like organic farming and everything in between.
