About Me
ABOUT ME
We are a German couple, I am Kurt and I am 57 years old and my wife Iris is 52. We have 4 adult children between 22 and 34 years.
I think I can say we are an open minded, hearty and friendly couple, we both like to meet people and the exchange of opinions. Life offers so many opportunities of learning every day, especially when listening to people and talking with them about their way of live. We do like pets, but unfortunately Iris is allergic to cats, so she can`t stay in a house, when cats live in the house.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We are on a 1-year-journey and we are always looking for new experiences . The best way to learn something about a country is to meet local people.

What I Can Share with Hosts
I am a carpenter and I have my own workshop in Germany. For the last 35 years I gained a lot of experience in every kind of work with wood, especially with building furniture. I like to develop furniture according to the special character of the wood– which is different with the different sorts of wood and which changes even from tree to tree. And I prefer to treat the wood only with biological stuff. If something at a house should be constructed with wood, I am able to do it.
Iris is a pre-school teacher and normally she works in a kindergarden. She is able to do any work with children, help to learn them with fun, help with homework or just make them have a good time with playing and reading and whatever children need to be happy.
She has also a commercial education and is able to deal with all kind of office work. Having been mother and housewife too, she is of course able to do any kind of housekeeping such as cooking, cleaning etc. She speaks German (of course), English, French and she just learned to talk a little bit in Spanish. I speak German and English and I am able to understand a little bit Spanish.
