Working on illustration assignments while travelling and eating in South-East Asia. Sounds like a perfect match, eh?

ABOUT ME

I'm a freelance illustrator and work from my bedroom aka livingroom aka diningroom aka your possible bedroom. Apart from drawing, I really really love to cook. So a combination of both is my current mission, which will start on the 14th of August this year!

While travelling, I love taking analogue photos. It's partly because I like the surprise, but mainly because I take photographs more focused and I know I'll take way too many photos digitally, which in my opinion has two big downsides:
1. it's more important to experience what you're experiencing in the moment in stead of snapping away;
2. it's waaaay too much effort to sort the 10.000 photos out when I get back from a trip.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I like to provide travelers a couch when possible and I definitely try to use CS as much as possible when travelling. Also: when sending a request, I'd like to read the magic word 'doy' somewhere along your message, as I'd like to know you took the time and effort to read whatever I wrote (I'll try to keep it short) before you ask to crash at my place. It's a small favour to ask, right? Because my bedroom is also my livingroom/ diningroom/ work space and your possible bedroom I kind of need some kind of connection with my couchsurfers as there is no way we could avoid each other ;-)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I started using couchsurfing when I went on my first ever big trip around the world in 2010, from Breda (my previous hometown) through Russia, via Japan to visit my grandpa in China. I had some excellent experiences in Russia and Japan and I've been trying to provide the same experiences for other travellers while I can here in Amsterdam.

Musica, film e libri

I am very much into my The Police and David Bowie phase, although I really appreciate Moderat, Eels, Sigur Rós, Die Antwoord, Postal Service and so many more bands aswell. And from time to time and can really enjoy some good ol' punk music to think about the days when I was 16, super cool and alternative.My biggest musical vice is definitely Britney Spears. So yeah, my taste in music is very random.

As for books: I'm currently reading Freakonomics and I'm really enjoying it.

Decided I wanted to visit my grandpa in China by train before I turned 30 and made that happen when I was 20.
