About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To graduate with honors, begin a career that will bring stability to me, my girlfriend, and hopefully a kid or two, and in the process contribute something worthwhile to the growth and knowledge of humanity,
ABOUT ME
Up to now I've lived a great life full of adventure and learning. At this point I believe I've finally reached a place where I enjoy stability and productivity just as much as a new adventure.
Most of my time these days is spent studying and trying to improve myself daily. However, when I'm not studying I'm an avid disc golfer, I love adventuring and commuting by bike, I enjoy getting out in nature to forget the grind, and when there's not time for one of my hobbies I'll relax with some good coffee, wine, beer, or food.
My girlfriend of two and a half years is currently working in London for at least a year. So I thought this would be a good time to meet and help some travelers, and eventually meet some locals when I have the chance to get to Europe later this year.
PHILOSOPHY
I try to better the world by improving myself everyday so that I have something more to contribute. I don't expect to change the world, but I hope to be a positive force.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm still figuring that out. I'd like to open up my futon for travelers or be able to recommend or show some good places for travelers to experience while they're in town.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I'm brand new to this website and community, but I've done a lot of traveling and spent quite a few nights on the couches or in the extra beds of friends and family. In return, I make sure that wherever I live I have a place for friends and family to visit, stay, and feel comfortable.
I have stayed in plenty of hotels and resorts, but I always find that I prefer staying with and getting to know locals. You learn a lot more about the nuances of a different culture that way, and as a bonus, they usually know the best places to visit while you're there.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I used to listen to a lot of indie, folk and classic rock. Recently though I've been listening to a lot of electronic, house, and trance music. I try to be open to anything as long as it fits the mood I'm in.
Books: My top 3 for entirely different reasons are as follows.
-On the Road by Jack Kerouac
-The Worldly Philosophers by Robert Heilbroner
-:07 Seconds or Less by Jack McCallum
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Saint-Emilion, France was probably the overall most beautiful place I've visited, Hawaii is the closest thing I've seen to Paradise, and New Orleans takes the cake for the best place to party.
However, I hope my one amazing thing is ahead of me and has more to do with what I've done than where I've been.
Teach, Learn, Share
I've spent some time in the wine industry and could teach people a little about what our regions have to offer.
Like many Oregonians, I'm very into drinking and brewing beer and could narrow down the list of must try breweries in Portland. Or better yet, guide a brewery tour by bike for some travelers.
If you're a disc golfer I'd love to guide you around any of the local courses.
