About Me

Hi! I'm a Chinese doing my master's degree in Linguistics in Sheffield, UK now. My major was Japanese language and literature when I'm an undergrad, so I lived in Osaka, Japan for a period of time. I like meeting people. Things I like to do are written in the interests column, so I'm not gonna be wordy here. ; )

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC:

I like many kinds of music, e.g. rock, jazz, ambient, classical, OST of films/games etc.

Artists I frequently listen to are: Radiohead, Pink Floyd, RHCP, TOE, LITE, Gigi Gryce, Bill Evans, J.S.Bach etc.

I also listen to traditional Chinese music.

Oh yeah, I have a band in Beijing.

MOVIES:

Enter the Void by Gaspar Noé once had a influence to me. I know it's a marmite film.

Shichinin no Samurai (Seven Samurai) by Akira Kurosawa is so good if you go deeper. I even wrote a dissertation about it. Almost all Kurosawa's works are brilliant.

I like some films on screen in recent years such as Her and Gone Girl. Btw I like Gravity more than Interstellar if I have to say.

I also like some big series such as LoR, Star Wars and so on.

Watch Du Levande (You, the Living), a Swedish film, if you have time and patience. It's nonsense but I like it.

Too many films to talk about.

BOOKS:

I basically read books in Chinese, or maybe also in Japanese. : )
