ABOUT ME

I am currently a Fulbright English Teaching Assistant in Malaysia. I teach English at a semi-rural secondary school on the East Coast of Malaysia and I love it. I am here until November and I am trying to use all of my school holidays to see as much of this side of the world as possible. I am a very fun and laid back person. Easy to get along with and always ready for a good laugh or a thoughtful conversation.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to couch surfing but being a poor teacher with a rare chance to travel in SE Asia I am hoping I will be able to use CS to see some awesome places and meet new people.

Interests

I love traveling and I have been very fortunate in my life to be able to travel a lot of place. When I travel my favorite thing to do is see wildlife of visit places of outstanding natural beauty. I also love reading and and I am not a bad cook (desserts are my specialties). I am very interested in the human experience and I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychology.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love reading and music more than almost anything in the world. I grew up with Harry Potter so it will also have a special place in my heart, but I love the classics as well. I really love short stories and Joyce Carol Oats is one of my favorite authors.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being a teacher (sorry this is really cheesy) every day is filled with amazing moments. My students are my life and they never fail to amazing me with their refreshing life views and strange opinions and ideas. Recently I asked my students to make a list of things they wanted to do before they died. One of them told me that she wanted to create a new mathematical formula like Einstein and another told me they wanted to see a koala bear give birth. These are amazing moments for me.
