About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to know and unknow. I want to see and be in new places and talk to interesting people.

ABOUT ME

I like traveling, reading, writing, and seeing things that inspire. I like story telling, and hearing stories told, I think they can be an radical form of resistance to alienating narratives. I like a good strong drink every once with warm and creative people.

I like hiking, surfing, sailing, rock climbing, mountain biking, and nature. Camping is awesome.

I love talking with people and learning what they have to say. I grew up in an interesting place, only 15 minutes away from the US/Mexico border, so in many ways I grew up in an inbetween, betwixt, place, where identity is always being redefined and reinterpreted through stories and poetics.

I'm like to conscider myself an open person, and I love learning what other have to say.

I love anthropology and unfortunately it can get me thinking a little bit too much. Sometimes you gotta just let go, stick your thumb out, nd see where the road takes you.

PHILOSOPHY

One time I was hitchhiking from San Diego to San Francisco for ten days. I arrived at city lights bookstore in chinatown. My friends and I walked towards the bookstore, when we approached a street called "Jack Kerouac Street," an inconspicuos littel alley, lined with cobblestones. We sat down in the alley and took off our packs, silently relfecting on the past days of adventure that had got us to this point. I took out our last, crunpled ciggarette and we shared it. Using the butt, on a little cobblestone, i wrote, 'go.'

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far it has been amazing. Although I've only hosted, it feels like your traveling and doing something amazing just by inviting people into your home for a while to share good food, times, and stories.

Interests

Reading, writing, hiking, backpacking, hitchiking, poetry, activism, reading anthropological theory, traveling, meeting new people.

I really like frech philosophy and post- or late-modern philosophy.
