I am a graduate student at the University of Illinois and I am studying Ethnomusicology. My research is on music in India, and I am spending a year in Jaipur starting in June 2016. I am a trained opera singer, and am learning the sitar. I have also been in Arab and Balkan music ensembles as a singer and instrumentalist. I am a relaxed individual and I am looking to explore the world. I love meeting new people, experiencing their perspective on life, and getting to know other cultures. I love cooking, movies, pop culture, and trying local restaurants and food.

Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing

I will be in India for one year, and while I am there I am going to try and travel to as many other countries as possible. Couchsurfing is a great way to meet people, find some local flavor/culture, and have inexpensive accommodations so I can travel more! I would love to find some backpacking buddies that are looking for adventure! Countries I will hopefully be visiting over the next year include: Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia/Bali, Georgia, Japan, New Zealand, and Australia.
