ABOUT ME

Oh hey! I'm Kyle and I'm from Iowa. I absolutely love Iowa and I'd be happy to tell you about it (or show you around if we both happen to be there!), but only after you tell me what you already know. It's always funny to hear peoples impressions of my home state.

As much as I love Iowa, I've always had a strong desire to see the rest of the world, to experience what other peoples lives are like, and to explore Earth's natural beauty. Not too long after I graduated from university I realized this dream adventure wouldn't happen on its own, so I dropped everything and got a flight out. My current goal is to spend "quality time" on every continent. Fingers crossed for Antarctica this year!

I've been traveling for a few years and I don't see an end to the journey coming any time soon. I've learned so many fascinating things, I've built profound friendships, and I've seen beautiful places. I've found that the way I enjoy traveling is through friendships with locals. Sure, I enjoy visiting the famous sites (they're famous for a reason), but my best experiences are the spontaneous adventures to mysterious places. I'm all about challenging myself on the road less traveled.

I'm just a happy and easy going guy out here to experience the world!

Hiking is my passion. You can hike anywhere and all you need is yourself!

I love Cycling, Canoeing, Kayaking, Scuba Diving, Climbing, Fishing, Surfing, XC Skiing, Snowboarding and Camping when I have the gear available.

I'm interested in wilderness biology. I love learning new ecosystems as I travel to new areas.

Learning new cultures and experiencing the daily lives of individuals around the world is another passion I enjoy. I think if we all experience the daily lives of others around the world we will see how interesting our own lives truly are when we see how excited others can be about the small superficial differences we have but most importantly we will se how deep down we are all the same.

Morceaux de musique, films et livres

Yeah, I'm a fan of music, but I'm not sure that music is a fan of me. I want to learn to sing and play guitar. I guess its one of those things I wish my parents forced me to do when I was younger, but I refuse to give up hope.

I rarely find music I don't enjoy. I'm not a big fan of heavy metal I guess. I love classic rock, 90's alternative and nostalgic pop. Really anything though.

Movies are cool too. I'm a big fan of movies that make you think. If you're saying "what the fuck?" at the end then you know its a good movie. I like stupid comedy as well.

Books. Yeah I've gotten into those over the years. Normally I'm into nonfiction. I'm a big fan of book exchanges.

I snorkeled with a humpback whale in Jan 2020.

Most recently I worked on a boat in Alaska where I observed whales and glaciers every day!

I've done a lot of cross country hitchhiking trips.

I love multi day backpacking trips.
