Overview
About Me
Hi, I’m Tristen, or you can call me Tris. After spending four amazing years in Germany studying and working, I’ve decided to make the Philippines my permanent home. I now run a small business focused on travel accommodations, offering short-term rentals on different platforms. I currently manage three properties across the Philippines that welcome both local and international tourists.
When it comes to Couchsurfing, I keep it separate from my business. If I invite you to stay at my personal residence, it’s free—because for me, it’s all about connecting with people! I’m an avid swimmer and a certified diver, so I’d love to exchange stories about your adventures. I do enjoy crowds and socializing, but I also cherish my peace and solitude from time to time. Looking forward to meeting fellow travelers!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I’m on Couchsurfing to connect with others, find common ground, and create a sense of belonging. For me, it’s all about meeting new people and sharing experiences. I also hope to provide a safe space for fellow travelers, just like the ones I’ve found on my own journey. It’s an opportunity to learn from others and offer a place where they can feel comfortable and welcomed.

Music, Movies, and Books
I’m a huge fan of George R.R. Martin’s work, especially *Game of Thrones* and *House of the Dragon.* When it comes to music, my taste is pretty mixed—I enjoy techno, pop, hard rock, or anything that resonates with my ears and heart at the moment. One of my all-time favorite books is *The Alchemist* by Paulo Coelho; its wisdom and motivation are truly meaningful to me.
I used to read a lot back in high school and college, but life priorities shifted. Now, I’m hoping to rediscover the joy of reading, finding inner peace while enjoying a good book with a beautiful view. It’s something I’m working on making a priority again—soon, I’ll get there. So mote it be!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One thing I’m proud of is how I’ve managed to endure despite all the odds and challenges I’ve faced. There were countless nights where I questioned why I had to go through so much pain, and many times I even thought about ending it all. Yet here I am, writing this bio. I’ve learned that patience is a talent—it’s about having the stamina to keep going when it feels like nothing will get better. You just need to hold on, wait out the storm, and eventually, the sun will shine again.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love meeting new people and staying on the move. Over the past two years, I’ve traveled non-stop without settling in one place. It’s been fulfilling, but I’ve realized that having a routine and a permanent flat has its perks too. However, once I got used to it, the desire to travel kicked in again.
I’ve learned that meeting new people while traveling is refreshing because there are no strings attached—just pure interaction in the moment. Maybe it’s rooted in my past, where I felt people took advantage of me, but in travel, there’s a sense of freedom. It’s a personal balance I’m still figuring out, between settling down and being constantly on the move.
What I Can Share with Hosts
As a host, I offer a comfortable stay with a private room and a fully equipped kitchen. While my diet may not always be the healthiest at the moment, I’ll make sure there are fruits, vegetables, and other options in the fridge, especially if you're more food-conscious. Feel free to cook for yourself, or maybe we can teach each other new recipes!
I consider myself a good host, especially for short-term stays. If you're here longer (say, two weeks), you might notice my interaction lessens—sometimes I need time alone, but don’t worry! You’ll have your own room and plenty of space, so you’ll never feel awkward. If I’m not busy, I’d love to show you around, visit local tourist spots, or grab a beer at a nearby bar. Otherwise, feel free to make yourself at home and enjoy your stay!
