About Me

I grew up in the US but have always had wanderlust. In high school, I had the chance to go to France but got cold feet and have been trying to make up for it ever since. I biked across the US in 2012, then volunteered as a bike mechanic in India, Zambia, and Guatemala throughout 2013. I had to get a "real job" to pay off my student loans, but in April 2017 I quit to bike around the world.

My goal is to see as much of the world as possible, meet as many people as possible, be as kind and humble as possible, and all this on a budget. Living on a bike is quite cheap, but sometimes I do need the kindness of others, and it's a great way to meet people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To meet the awesome people of the world, duh.

Since I am living on my bike a shower and a safe place to sleep are the biggest boons, but I will gladly buy you a beer in exchange for your story. I can also entertain you with my uke or an accordion if you have one (didn't want to bring mine on the bike...).

If I ever stop vagabonding, I plan to host other travelers. "Pass it on" is one of my life philosophies. For now, I just pass on kindness and humility, all that I have except for what's on my bike.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once fundraised $9500 to volunteer abroad for 9 months.

There's this desk I designed and built from scratch. I also sew jackets and pants and things.

I keep telling myself I'm biking around the world but sometimes it feels like it hasn't sunk in yet.
