About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To see as much as I can and meet as many like-minded awesome people.

ABOUT ME

I'm fun. And funny! But sarcastic. I love making the most of life. I am living in Japan, but that is because the Air Force moved me from Southern California, so I'm a true Californian at heart.

I am really into photography, I have been ever since the early years in high school. Because of this, I often like to take a little longer to enjoy the little things, to see it from different perspectives and try to capture it by way of the camera.

PHILOSOPHY

As cliché as it sounds, I prefer to live life, make the most of it. Not just "be". Be as good as you can be (no thanks, Army. haha). Learn as much as you possibly can. Contribute your talents, skills, and personality to that which it can better.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have currently ever been a guest to a host's generosity. Throughout my travels in the States, I was able to meet some great people and I hope to meet more as I travel more internationally.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My friend first introduced me to the idea of Couch Surfing. At first I cocked my head to my side and was like "Huh?". But after thinking about it, and seeing how legit the website seemed, I was a lot more open to the idea. My first experience was with my friend staying at this lovely woman's house in Allentown, PA. I also couchsurfed with this super cool guy in Kyoto on a last minute notice. Though his language wasn't perfect, I was happy to practice my Japanese, and in return he showed me so many awesome sites (including Fushimi-inari) and introduced me to some of his friends (with whom we went out to do some karaoke with!).

Interests

Besides photography and traveling... exploration, driving, listening to new music, concerts, SCUBA, spending time with another person.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - Piano rock (Copeland, Augustana, Band of Horses, Muse, The Age of Rockets, etc.), Ambient (Sigur Ros, Deas Vail)
TV shows - Community, the Office
Books - I've always been a bit of a Harry Potter nerd. I could give practically any answer to the HP universe. I'm also into the Percy Jackson series.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I would say one of the most amazing and beautiful things I've seen was after having climbed to the top of Seoraksan in South Korea, the clouds--which up to that point had kept things foggy and obscured--parted, revealing the nearby peaks with the sun bathing everything in a brilliant light.

Teach, Learn, Share

I feel I have a lot to share on my perspective of people. As individuals, and as they relate together. I could also perhaps teach a thing or two about the basics of photography. I'd always down to learn something new, too!
