ABOUT ME

Hey, I'm Kert from Estonia. I would describe myself as an honest, happy person. I am modest and respectful of others and their culture/opinions.I'm polite and also helpful whenever I can. I love good music, films, sports and keeping active in general. I also enjoy photography.

Currently started travelling with my brother and his girlfriend, after having lived in Australia for 2 years, saving money. We just finished our 3 weeks in New Zealand and are heading to Hawaii and the rest of USA. We're going to rent a car and drive from San Fran - LA - LV - NY - Miami. Hoping to meet lots of cool couchsurfers on the way!

I truly believe (even with my limited life experience) that once you realise that you can't change others and a lot of things in life, it gets a lot easier to be happy. I always try to be the best person I can be.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm very interested to meet lots of new people with all the different activities. I've heard so many great things about different activities that CS provides and I'm really looking forward to experience all of them on my own.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I've only had a few surfing experiences but they were all very good. I surfed with some people for a few days in Perth, Australia and I enjoyed it a lot! The hosts were all friendly and really helpful and I managed to get a lot of good information about the city from them.

I worked in Perth for 4 months and went on a road trip from Perth to Sydney. I spend a few weeks there and flew to Queensland to do my regional work for the 2nd year Visa.
During 2013 I lived in Melbourne, saving money for travelling. That's what I am doing at the moment - recently visited New Zealand and heading to USA now. Last year in Melbourne I also met with some really cool couchsurfers. We went for coffee and did other various activities, even started learning Spanish thanks to a lovely couchsurfer from Peru!

In my free time I like to keep active. I enjoy skateboarding, snowboarding, running, football, photography. I've always considered my hobbies as a great outlet and a way to push myself.I also like 'good' music, and going to live shows if possible. So far my highlights have been The Jezabels (Perth, 2012)Nine Inch Nails (Amsterdam 2009), Guns N' Roses (Helsinki 2006) and Velvet Revolver (Seinäjoki 2007). I also enjoy interesting movies that make me think. Love documentaries!

I'm very interested in videography and photography. At the moment I am trying to put together a small travel documentary from our own travels as well.

I like all things nature - walks, hikes, parks, the ocean.

Bungy jumping from 134m in Queenstown, New Zealand. So much fun I had to do it twice!

Visiting Milford Sound in New Zealand. A truly Magical place.

Skydiving in Mission Beach, Australia was one of the best things I've ever experienced.

Diving at the Great Barrier Reef!

Whale watching at the Great Australian Bight. Visiting Uluru and Kings Canyon. Stunning views from the top of the canyon.. it was so good. The Great Ocean Road - so much fun driving along the coast.

I hope more amazing things are still awaiting me. I really enjoyed travelling on my own to Amsterdam in 2009 as well.

I suppose I could teach and talk about skateboarding / snowboarding. I could also teach Estonian! I've always wanted to learn to play guitar but it hasn't worked out so far unfortunately. Trying real surfing is also on my to-do list.
