ABOUT ME

I’m a dreamer, a free spirit, and a procrastinator. These things and the opportunity to attend a university for free (thank you Kalamazoo Promise!) have kept me from doing what I’ve always really wanted to do, and that’s travel. I love adventure. I’m a thrill seeker and willing to try anything (well almost anything) at least once. I’ve never had the career-oriented mindset and have always been about life’s journey. But now I’m 21-years-old and graduating college in December and I still haven’t done the things I’ve always dreamed I would do. I feel like summer 2010 is my last chance I’ll have for awhile to just go. This is my motivation for finally actually putting plans into place.

I plan on taking off at the end of July. I'll have my own car and potentially one friend by my side. I figure Couch Surfing could be an amazing way for me to share my experience with others, meet a ton of cool people, get shown around the areas, and save on costs by not needing to book as many hotels.

I know I am totally new to the site, but I hope that doesn’t affect anyone’s decision to whether or not they let me stay with them. I’m a very down-to-earth, go-with-the-flow, chill kind of person that makes me easy to get along with. I’m not at all a judgmental person and I’m very understanding and loyal. I can be sarcastic and crazy in a fun-loving way. I’m pretty much down for anything, and pretty much awesome, so I hope some of you will consider hosting me (and possibly one friend), and a year from now when I become in the position where I have my own residence, I will return to kindness.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I’m definitely a newcomer. I have neither hosted nor slept on anyone’s couch as of yet. By the end of the summer all that will have changed. I hope to not only met a dozen of you, but to have made great connections with you and will be part of the network to help this community grow. When I am in the position to host others, you better believe I will, but for now I’m only able to show you around the town.

Movies: Serenity, Shawshank Redemption, Boondock Saints, Role Models, V for Vendetta, Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind, Superbad, Iron Man, Blood Diamond, Across The Universe, Waiting, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Tropic Thunder

Music: I love rock n roll (classic/psychedelic/soft/new rock, whatever) but I also enjoy some music of other genres as well (pop, rap, r&b, and even country is growing on me :) ). My top bands are always changing; The Doors will probably always be number one, but right now I'm also into bands like Metallica, Pantera, Dropkick Murphys, Avenge Sevenfold, and Rob Zombie.

Books: The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss, Harry Potter, Carl Jung's Red Book

And even though T.V. shows wasn't listed as a category I just want to add that Firefly was the best show ever and I also love Buffy, Angel, Scrubs, That 70s Show, Supernatural, Leverage, Justified, True Blood, The Vampire Diaries and Veronica Mars. :)
