About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Stalking language professors everywhere :D

ABOUT ME

I am a non-traditional student. I have Multiple Sclerosis and I study Humanities and Informatics. I am working on a concentration in Multiculturalism and Language. I speak a little Spanish and a little French. I volunteer at the local art museum. I also work as an ESL volunteer. I tutor math.

I worked for 16 years in the hospitality industry. I worked as a social worker for 5.

I am just beginning to get really involved in community service projects. I've done short-term projects before, but now I'm planning and implementing strategies for long-term effect. My professor says that I have the soul of a social worker and I try to spread myself out to reach everyone. LOL

I am currently working on a project to gather children's science and natural history books for Costa Rica. We are also developing a proposal for a Sister City exchange with my city.

PHILOSOPHY

I feel like my life has been on hold until I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I'm studying and doing things that I didn't do before I got sick.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have eclectic taste in music from cheezy pop music to Pavanne for a Dead Princess by Ravel.

I'm waiting for Ironman 2 to come out in the summer.

My favorite book is The Kitchen God's Wife.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm not particularly heroic or daring (I have MS). I am amazed by many things: I helped a student who has been working on her Bachelor's degree for 26 years and is almost finished, I swam in the lake in Quebec while the rain fell and the little fishes nibbled at my feet, I watched the fireworks from the Roman Bridge in Salamanca for a holiday.

Countries I’ve Visited

Canada, Spain

Countries I’ve Lived In
