I am Kyra from Hamburg, Germany. One of the first things I tell people about myself is that I grew up with a bunch of siblings and cousins but it’s a lot easier to explain that in person. I also study psychology in Erlangen, Germany and rarely spend time alone. Instead spending time with people is my strategy for stress relief.

I discovered my love for traveling back when I was an exchange student in high school in Austin, TX, USA. There I learnt how valuable it is to not only see a country but also speak and learn about its culture with the local community.

Interessen

Firstly, I am a very social person and care about the wellbeing of the people around me. However, this means that I have no tolerance for racism, sexism, homophobia or any other form of discrimination. I am active in an organization raising money and spreading awareness for sea rescue missions in Europe and believe sea rescue and immigration to be fundamental human rights.
Further, I am a beginners martial artist in the Filipino Martial Arts Modern Arnis and am especially convinced of its central beliefs in teamwork and respect.
I love painting my own artwork but at the moment I mainly just admire other artists work and I consider a day spent in any art museum or sculpture garden as a day well spent.
I preferably eat vegetarian food and love vegan cooking but I am open to eating meat especially when it’s part of either a traditional or cultural meal or when it’s a local delicacy.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

Music taste varies by mood and environment as it does with most people: personally, I always loved alternative rock and pop music and cheesy singer- songwriter music (the XX, the Killers, early Ed Sheeran), sometimes I prefer jazz and classical music over anything else and I recently discovered Techno music for long car rides.
My favorite book at the moment is “My Brilliant Friend” by Emilia Ferrante, in my opinion the best Show on TV is “Modern Family” and my favorite movie has been “Pride and Prejudice” with Keira Knightly for as long as I can remember and “Inception “ still blows my mind. “Famille Bélier” is my feel good movie and “Victoria” is movie I think everybody should have seen at least once as it is an artistic masterpiece.
