About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finding a place to lay our heads down while job hunting/ apt hunt in SF when we move on Sept 13, 2011!

ABOUT ME

I will answer some random questions since this is how I think:

1. Do you like to dance?
Yeah! I break out in random dance and song at least twice per day (generally fist pumping, 90s variety). And I also make awkward faces...just because I'm awkward.

2.Would you ever consider living abroad?
Our credit rating is now a measly AA+ instead of an AAA...we only know it's a downhill slope before the C's turn into F's, then we'll turn to drugs and alcohol and finally just dropout.

No but seriously, I've want spend at least 6 months in Nigeria. And after that do some heavy living in Europe.

3. What is the last thing you downloaded onto your computer?
A whole bunch of Phothoshop brushes for GIMP!

4.Last time you swam in a pool?
Mid July, my friend Connor was house sitting so we got drunk and swam in a heated pool! It was so much fun...a little sloppy.

5.Type of music you like most?
I don't know if it's a category but folk/indie Sufjan Stevens, Cat Power, Yeah Yeah yeas, Lykki Li all serious mainstays along with Travis, Alexi Murdoch, Metric, The Ting Tings, Charlotte Gainsbourg...um, a whole lot.

6. Tell me a dream you last had?
I was flying...I take flying dreams seriously because it's always a reflection of how I feel psychologically. I was trapped inside my old house, and I had to escape when I remembered I could fly! I had to show my little brother how to do it to! It was amazing to feel freedom (I was briefly afraid of falling, but only when I thought about it).

PHILOSOPHY

Your life changes when your thoughts change; I CHOOSE happiness as a way of life, not as a reaction to the way things are going.

After my junior year in college (I studied Human Biology), I swore to myself that achieving my dreams means taking a huge risk and going against the way I was raised, going against the neiborhood then it's worth it. I'm worth it.

It's been a real struggle sometimes but being in charge of my own life has been the most empowering element for living a meaningful life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I participate in the world by creating art, making people laugh, and trying to help someone everyday.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hm, just staying on friends' couches/futons for summer gigs!

My best friend, Natalie, shared her futon for the summer and it was a blast. Life seemed really...carefree. But we were also on summer break from Uni. It was a lot of going on day trips, boxed wine and poetry reading hahaha.

Interests

I'm interestd in so many things...mainly drawing, art shit (all types), fashion, illustration, reducing water bottle pollution. Yep. But I am also interested in small dogs, hiking, home made Rice Krispy treats, J.Roget champagne and beer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

5000 people half naked, and half drunk doing all sorts of things for beads.

My dad cry, only once.

My extended family in Nigeria for the first time since I moved to the United States in 1994.

A whole bunch of other things that people would probably consider mundane: lakes, trees, clouds, :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a dreamer and a lover of all things. I believe individual power is amazing but collective huamn power is the highest of all miracles. :)

Stuff I'd like to do:
Be a Socially Conscious Fashion Designer
Use my Drawing skillz to help someone in the world :)
Volunteer abroad for more than 6 months
Write a chapbook eventually
