MUSICA: Oooh so many: Cape Verdean (morna, funana, passada, coladeira, etc); Peruvian (landó, marinera limeña, zamacueca, andino etc); Colombian (cumbia, vallenato, etc); Brazilian (bossanova, afro-brasileiro, muito muito mais); Portuguese (hip hop & fado e mais!); Senegal (almost anything with the kora ha); so many more, fusion thereof is great; salsa, merengue típico, chachacha, rumba, guaguanco, pachanga, kizomba, bachata (la típica), hiphop, jazz, dancehall, reggae, Hawaiian reggae & other music...so many things I love. Oh and I love the violin & accordion --- sounds so lovely...and the cajón! Artists include: Mayra Andrade, Sara Tavares, Ive, Bicho de Pé, Céu, Low Leaf, Ibeyi, Tribe Called Quest, Babyface, Nicomedes Santa Cruz, Victoria Santa Cruz, Pascuala Ilabaca, Dino D'Santiago, ohhh so many more....thanks life!

Movies: ones that make you think, ones that depict history from the view of the oppressed, ones that make me learn things, ones in which I believe the characters. Very small sampler: I am Cuba, The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie, L'Agronomiste, Not One Less, Almodovar films in general, Philomena, Jodorowsky's Dune, ayyyy and of course all the vegan documentaries, hahha . No seriously, all of them...and all the ones about bees.

Books: oh so many that have led to me waking! Political, spiritual, self-help, fiction from Latin America in general as well as other places -- yeah that narrows things down..I can't pick one! Jorge Luis Borges blows my mind, Isabel Allende me transporta a otro mundo, of course Paulo Coelho, Zinn's History of the US, Frantz Fanon, Paulo Freire, Carol Adams, Angela Davis, honestly so many books that I would love to credit because they all contributed so much and I cherish each one I have read for adding to who I am today.....or better yet for taking away the layers to reveal my authentic self (still in the process).
