ABOUT ME

I work in Burgas as a teaching assistant/part time teacher. It's taken a while, but the place has grown on me, and I would be happy to show newbies around. In general, I love wandering around new places and taking photos. I'm always up for meeting new people, but I must warn any non-English speakers that my Bulgarian is still very shaky! I am very keen to see as much of Bulgaria (and hopefully the surrounding countries) as possible so you may be hearing from me soon...

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am about to move into Hostel 'Schulz' for the next two months, so I have no couch of my own but I'm sure my flatmate does. I can certainly offer food and basic local knowledge, maybe even a tour if I'm not busy.

Music, Movies, and Books

Gah..too many. Books: Any Bukowski, Doris Lessing or Murukami. Some philosophy. I am a massive film nerd; 'Breaking The Waves', 'Wings of Desire', 'Morvern Callar', 'Oldboy' are faves, also 'My Own Private Idaho' & other 80's/90's nostalgia such as 'Dazed and Confused' and 'Slacker'. I'm also learning about the Czech new wave movement at the moment.. 'Daisies' rocks. Music: I dig lots of electronica such as Plaid, Autechre, Boards of Canada and AFX and other lesser known Warp labellers. Joanna Newsom, Cocteau Twins, Miles Davis, Broadcast and Yo La Tengo are my long term faves...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Exploring the seven great waterfalls in Setti Fatma, Morocco was amazing. Some of the drops were terrifying though, especially for someone with an ongoing fear of heights!
