About Me

Hello ! My name is Laelia, I'm French and I am travelling after my graphic design studies. I've been around Est Europe in autumn for 3 months but now I'm in Porto for few days with two friends. We hope to discover the city, meet locals and hike 🌞

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing to travel differently.
Since I experienced it, I realised it's a wonderful way to discover a city with an other gaze than the touristic one, more like a local. We can experiance the city like we wouldn't and see places we would never go without meeting people living there and I love it!
With two friends we reached Greece and stop in each country on our way for 1 or 2 weeks (Italy, Slovenia, Croatia, Montenegro, Albania). Now it's time for Portugal! My aim is to meet people from around the world and to travel economically (in money and CO2), so Couchsurfing seemed like the best way to do it.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like different types of music like Nicola Cruz, Loyle Carner, Manu Chao or Masego.
My favorite movies are Miyazaki's, but I also like "Lord of the Rings" or Wes Anderson's films.
I love to read and, for me, the best book is "His Dark Materials". I think my favorite kind of literature is fantasy. But one book that made me want to travel was "Seper Hero" by Marine Barnérias, a young woman who decided to travel alone to New Zealand, Mongolia and Nepal despite her illness.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I just finished with my two travel mates to paint a village map on a wall (first time to paint a fresquo for us) in Croatia. We were along a road being honk 30 times a day. We thought it would take only few days but we stayed 3 weeks in the Hostel where we were volonteering.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Of course, I'm happy to help around the house with cooking, cleaning, housework and gardening.
My passion is drawing, so I'd be happy to share it by teaching you or drawing your home or yourself!
If you want to learn French, it would also be a pleasure to try to teach you some basics.
Finally, I'd love to share our respective cultures!
