About Me

Hi,

I'm a young woman who like to discover different cultures and to meet new people. By now, I live in Paris because of my job at Bibliothèque Sans Frontières. It's a very good place to meet people from all around the world. My main activities are practicing hula hoop and Taï Chi with lovely people. I'm also learning cooking receipes from west Africa. What I really like in Paris is the mix beteween historical and urban culture. When I walk in Paris, I like to take pictures of painted wall (graff) and meet people dancing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I heard about couchsurfing about a few years ago. Last year I decided to suscribe just to have an overview. I would like now to test couchsurfing. When I was travelling over the past few years, I luckily met lovely people who hosted me and shared with me their daily life. It really appreciated these experiences. I also like to share with people about my country and its culture.
My friends often laugh at me because I always talk with strangers. That's why I think couchsurfing is a good idea.

Music, Movies, and Books

I really like all kinds of music. When I was younger, I used to listen rock and metal music. Now, I like better to discover music from all the world. When I visit a country, I always try to discover the traditional music and the main artists of the moment. For example, when I was in Cameroon last year, I discovered severals groups: I enjoyed "Les têtes brûlées", back from the 90s, Kareyce Fotso, a more or less traditional artist, and Daphnee, a main stream artist in Africa.
I like the belgian bands I'm proud of (Stromae, Shela Sue, Deus, Ghinzu, Blackwave, Gers Pardoel)! At the moment, I also really like Gaël Faye, an artist from France and Rwanda/Burundi. He also wrote a book : "Petit Pays".

Like you could read before, I'm a librarian, so I like reading a lot, especially novels and comics. It is a way to travel. There is a nice moto: "Asking a bookworm to name their favorite book is like asking a mother to pick a favorite child."
I'm on Senscritique, a platform where you can put the books you've read and how you like them. You can find me under the avatar Rosaeighta on "senscritique.com".

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last Year, I worked for three months in a library in Yaoundé (Cameroon). I met a very beautiful country and lovely people. It was a discovery of each moment.

I attended a commemoration of Bamileke in a small village in Cameroon for severals days.
I ate some caterpillars, and it's actually delicious.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach french and basic dutch. I also can teach hula hoop, piano and rollerskating (basic).

I really like to learn about new sports and new languages from the country I'm visiting, and discovering local libraries.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook some belgian an french receipes. I like to talk and share about my country, the culture, folklore, festivals and cooking.
