ABOUT ME

Some people started to call me Smiley, so I guess I am a quite happy guy :) I try to be possitive about life and I reckon I quite get it. I become easily interested in all sort of things and love new experiences. I try most things at least once. So I have seen and done quite different things in my life like yoga, surfing, living in a hammock and being a landscaper. I love to meet new people, get to know new opinions, other cultures. This helps me to not stand still and receive new input. Tolerance is one of the most important values for me!!

My name causes problems for probably all nations, so I am quite used to all sort of nicknames and attempts to say my name, be creative :)

Go out and try new things and take the experience. You will always personally grow.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I hope to have soon a living arrangement, where I would be able to host. At the moment, I would like to meet new people in Sydney, see different ways of life in this city (I am sure everyone has their own unique way). I live far out west close to my job at the moment and would love to couchsurf at the weekends, think this would be the best way to get to know all the different suburbs.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I hosted one couchsurfer and absolutely loved it. My first surf is yet to come :)
Besides that I visited a lot of people I have met abroad and this way saw places I havnt even heard of before. I love these experiences of letting life guide me which places to visit. My couch was/is open for everyone I have met and will meet.

Interests

I love being abroad and travelling. I like taking my time as places often change their face over some time, unfortunately that is not always possible. I like doing sports like surfing, diving and hiking. Being outdoors and close to nature makes me happy.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The best decision I ever made was to go with the Uni Dive Club of Sydney to their anual island trip. I was 19 days on an unspoilt island only living with 25 other divers and a research team for turtles. More people are not allowed since it is a nature reserve. Besides a chemical toilet there was absolutely nothing on the island, we had to bring food, water, kitchen tent just basically everything you need to live on an island. I slept most of the nights in my hammock. The diving was amazing with turtles, manta rays, night dives but the real impressive and best thing was to live in unspoilt nature. The researchers taught us about the turtles and we saw new hatchlings crawling towards the water. No mirror, no tv, no magazines. I really came back to nature and therefore it was quite irritating to come back to real life and see all the people running, complaining etc. I would never want to miss this experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, i can speak german and english well, spanish rather not allthough I have been there for one semester. I can dive and tell a few funny stories I have experienced.

Im interested in everything and always like to learn new things. It is a bit bad because I often dont get in-depth knowledge, but I just like new things. I need new input.
