Music, Movies, and Books
LOVE BOOKS! Jacqueline Carrey, Orson Scott Card, Heinlen, Greek tragedy, Harry Potter, books on comparative religion, and whatever else good friends put in my hands. Sex at Dawn is a fantastic exploration of human (non)monogamy.
movies... uh... stuff other people usually don't like. like Lady in the Water. but then other stuff people do like. like the first Transformers. there is a long, long list of movies other people find important that I'm supposed to see... In terms of tv which is not listed, I am addicted to House, Dexter, Law and Order, and... Big Brother....
as for music, depends on my mood. the stuff I like to listen to in my downtime is 90's/grunge. but then i love me some metal, especially system of a down. but then i listen to top 40 in the car, and love to shake my butt to what plays in the club. however, my life has no place for country music.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
While in Japan I did an ethnographic study of the Shinto religion at the Hikawa Shrine in Akasaka, Tokyo. They let me into their organization so much more than I ever imagined they would, and even allowed me to perform the morning ritual greeting the gods and asking them to come into the shrine, in full ritual attire. one of the most moving things in my life.
Teach, Learn, Share
oh lordie, maybe bits of Japanese?
