About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To find my true passion, get qualified in it, and never "work" a day in my life.

PHILOSOPHY

Never settle for mediocrity. If it's worth doing, do it with zeal and passion. Never stop learning. An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest - it's as simple as asking questions. Listening is the most important virtue.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I finally get a place of my own I'll furnish it with a couch worthy of future Surfers! No doubt I'll travel a lot more before I finally settle down but I'm eager to reciprocate the help and kindness shown to me since I joined CS.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Joining CS has easily been one of the best travel-related decisions I've made to date. I've been hosted by some fantastic people, all who have enriched my travels in their own unique way. They've made it hard to leave the places I've visited. Nothing like a friendly face in a strange city - even if you've never met before!

Interests

Travelling (obviously), food (both cooking and consuming), cultures and languages (Japanese/Chinese are on my to-do list), long distance running (Paris 2012!), snowboarding, soccer, rugby (almost any sport!), photography, poker, architecture, coffee (recently discovered!), wine and whiskey (usually not at the same time, though), finding out how things work, starting to get into bit of programming too.

Music, Movies, and Books

Far too many to list but here's a cross section of a few of my favourites...

Movies:
Lost In Translation, There Will Be Blood, Gary Hustwit's Design Trilogy...
Music:
Talking Heads, Pixies, Jeff Buckley, The Smiths, Cypress Hill...
Books:
On The Road (Jack Kerouac), How Many Miles To Babylon (Jennifer Johnston), The Architecture of Happiness and Status Anxiety (Alain de Botton), The Diving Bell and the Butterfly (Jean Dominique Bauby), The 4 Hour Workweek (Tim Ferriss)...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Train-hopping from coast to coast through the US and bussing it all the way back again through Canada in one mental 30-day expedition. Plans were finalised very late the night before in a Starbucks in Toronto and yet we never really knew where we were going or where we would end up. Saw some incredible places and met some great characters along the way!
