Overview
About Me
"Your Honor, years ago I recognized my kinship with all living beings, and I made up my mind then that I was not one whit better than the meanest on earth. I said then, and I say now, that while there is a lower class, I am in it; and while there is a criminal element, I am of it; and while there is a soul in prison, I am not free." -Eugene V. Debs, while on trial for violation of the U.S. Espionage Act.
Myself, in brief:
Quiet, tending towards introspective. Outdoor-oriented. Love animals. Feminist. Environmentalist. Easy going. Lost. Don't drink, smoke, or anything else very fun, but don't mind their indulgence by others. Passionate about engaging with different cultures, people, places. Still figuring myself out; hopefully I won't ever come up with a totally resolute answer.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The dust has settled (for now)! I have my own place, replete with a trifecta of couches of varying comfort, and am excited to begin the phase of offering a place to stay for weary travelers, rather than always being the weary one myself. I've had such wonderful experiences in life that all began with the generous hospitality of strangers, so it'd be a shame not to offer that same spirit back now that I finally have the opportunity to do so.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies/TV: My favorite in the former is either Cabaret or Dogville, the latter, most recently the show Vikings.
Music: Eclectic, but mostly older rock, political hip hop, and chill out. Simon and Garfunkel was the first concert I ever went to; Lupe Fiasco is my current favorite artist.
Books: Anything well written and with some meaning, fiction or non.
