About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To remember to breathe and stay hydrated.

ABOUT ME

I've always been interested in meeting people from far away places. I struggled for years to learn another language and then took a job teaching in Argentina. Living there for two years made a huge impact on me. I consider Argentina to be my second home. I've been back several times and speak the language quite well.

PHILOSOPHY

A big part of who we are is the pure luck of having been born in a specific place and time. I try to question the influences of my surroundings.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'd prefer to host people who come from outside of the United States who are mature and not just in Portland to party. I can either host or meet you and hang out.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I've just met one person. Julia from Argentina and I went to a few of my favorite places in Portland.

Interests

Football (soccer) is my passion... playing, watching, coaching. Movies, going out to eat, going to the gym, cycling, art. Oregon is a great place for the outdoors.

Music, Movies, and Books

I've always loved movies... Kubrick, independent cinema, documentaries, etc. Favorite bands include Pixies, Goran Bregovic, Cuarteto de Nos. I was a metal head in my teens and early twenties until Spinal Tap set me straight.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveling up the Usumacinta River to the Mayan ruins of Yaxchilan rates up there... going to my first World Cup in 1986 was unforgettable.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've always been interested in how people are influenced by geography. For that reason I've always been fascinated by people who have different perspectives than mine, especially if they come from a different part of the world.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Brazil, France, Guatemala, Italy, United Kingdom, Uruguay

Countries I’ve Lived In

Argentina, Germany, Mexico, United States
